Maine

The Maine Bureau of Highway Safety partnered with Alliance Sport Marketing to work together on all their sport marketing properties, including high school and college sports, motorsports, professional sports, youth sports.

Professional Sports

Maine hosts the three professional sports teams. The Maine Red Claws (NBA G-League), The Portland Pirates (Minor League Hockey) and Portland Sea Dogs (Minor League Baseball), each of which were given the opportunity for in-venue signage, nightly public address announcement and printed advertising in the souvenir program of each team. During one event, the on-site engagements also gave the Alliance staff the chance to interact with the attendees.

Maine Red Claws
The Maine Red Claws are an NBA G-League team based in Portland, Maine.

Portland Pirates
The Portland Pirates are a minor league hockey team based in Portland, Maine.

Portland SeaDogs
The Portland SeaDogs are a minor league baseball team based in Portland, Maine.

Motorsports

To gain exposure, placement of trackside signs, nightly public address announcements and on-site engagements for the campaigns of Impaired Driving and Motorcycle Awareness were performed at six motorsports venues.

Signage
Venue signage provides the opportunity to reach attendees during the 3-4 hour event. Signs were placed within each venue displaying the Watch For Motorcycles and Drive Sober messages.

Public Address Announcements
Public address announcements were made prior to and during each event.

On-Site Activation
Alliance staff operated an interactive display at one event with each venue. Staff were able to engage with fans to raise awareness for these important safety issues.

College

The Maine Bureau of Highway Safety also teamed up with the University of Maine through their Football, Basketball, and Hockey sports teams, and also made appearances at the Waterfront Pavilion Concert Series, which included concerts from bands such as Jimmy Buffet, Darius Rucker, Miranda Lambert and Rascal Flatts.

High School

At each high school, Alliance provided the school with a sign with the “One Text or Call Could Wreck It All.” message on it, to be places at the traffic locations of the particular school. The schools were also each given a campaign resource kit containing educational flyers, thumb ands and recommended morning public announcement reads. Additionally, Alliance hosted school appearances and arranged pledge commitments during the sporting events that took place.

Campaign Materials
Each school was provided with a promotional kit with banners, thumb bands, posters, public address announcements, and flash drives containing materials to help promote the distracted driving campaign One Text or Call Could Wreck It All.

Youth Sports

Engaging with young sports players and their families was also done via the Alliance staff at youth sports events such as Lacrosse, Soccer, and Baseball.

Activation
Alliance set-up an interactive display at youth sports events to engage attendees to promote the highway safety message.

Fairs & Festivals

During twelve events across the state, such as beer and wine festivals and scenic motorcycle rides, interactive displays were also set up. As these events drew in many people that were the target demographic, the safety message received a fair amount of exposure.

Activation

An interactive display was produced and staffed by Alliance to engage attendees, promoting the importance of always having a sober driver.
